Did You Know Jogging…

Benefits of jogging

By Jogging Benefits

There is a theory among the scientists that jogging is good not only to prevent aging, obesity or heart disease. One of the biggest jogging benefits is that jogging can prevent cancer. This theory is based on the scientific researches of metabolism of cancer cells. During metabolic process in the healthy cells, blood sugar is being burned. Crusial component for such burning process is the oxygen. Oxygen reaches all of our body through lungs and then is delivered to all body cells with the blood flow. Our brain and muscles constantly require oxygen and blood. If any of 60 billions of our body cells lacks oxygen, it starts to mutate. So one of the best ways to prevent such mutation processes and to give plenty of oxygen to our bodies is jogging.
A half hour of jogging is equal to two hours of other aerobic exercises. If we want to strengthen our heart and improve it’s activity we need these aerobic exercises. And most effective one is of course jogging. Due to such physical activity the heart wall thickness increases, it becomes stronger and has bigger capacity to move the blood flow in your body. This means that your heart starts to work more effectively and with bigger amount of blood pumped through you organs, more oxygen will be delivered to your body cells. So risk of cancer decreases.
So this is one more reason for you to get up a little earlier, resist the temptation of sleeping a little more and get your self outside for a little jog.
Stay healthy and happy. Just jog.

Jogging is the best cure

The benefits of motion are known to the humanity for a long time. The health strengthening by jogging was started to be actively used about 30 years ago. Due to the lack of motion there is a risk for hypokinesia to appear. Having this disease we might become too sensitive, too emotional, too stressful. The lack of motion also causes less resistance to infections, it may cause appearance of various functional and structural changes to your inner organs and brain. Lack of motion also has the effect on our hearing and sight abilities. Our memory, thinking process and ability to focus weaken.   There is a great relation between Central Nervous System ant the muscles. Motion’s effect on the nervous system is such that it can help to relax and to weaken stress because rhythmic and slow impulses from moving muscles spread to our brain where it causes the calming effect. So in other words motion helps us feel better, it makes our mood better, it improves the way we feel, boosts our confidence and optimism. So that’s why jogging is the best cure from long term stress.   The scientists have proved that jogging is the best and most effective way to strengthen one’s cardiovascular system. So this means that jogging is the best exercise for your heart. Any man while jogging consumes several times more oxygen than normally. And as we all know the oxygen is very much important to our bodies. Besides that jogging can make you forget your daily problems.   So if you are still wandering if to start jogging or not, please do wander no more and the right decision to help yourself to feel the way you deserve to feel.

Morning jogging benefits and rules

So you wake up early in the morning and decide that it is time to start jogging. Nice decision. But before you actually go outside and start to jog, there are some certain things and rules you should take into account before actually starting. These issues and rules are needed for you to get as many jogging benefits as possible and in a most effective way.

First of all I would like to mention that it is very important for you to plan your jogging so that you would have some time afterwords to take a shower, have breakfast and some rest before you start your working day.

Then you also need to dress up properly.

Clothing and footwear
If it is warm and sunny outside, the clothing has to be light, i.e. shorts and T-shirt (no T-shirt is ok too unless you are a female).
If it is really hot, you have to be very careful because it is very easy to get a heat shock. When it is very hot it probably would be reasonable to shorten jogging time. It is also a very good idea to have a bottle of cool water with you. If the sun is very active, please do not forget to wear a hat.
You willl also need a pair of comfortable and light sneakers and socks. No other type of shoes will work.
Best of all are clothes made from natural cloth. Synthetic wear will make you hot in summertime and cold in winter.
You have to look carefully after your jogging clothes. Wash them frequently. If your shoes get wet while jogging, let them dry out.

Warm-up
So you are out side. Please do not start running as fast as you can. This won’t work. You will get tired soon, you won’t feel any pleasure, won’t get any benefits, your muscles will start to ache and you will literally quit jogging after short period of time. Instead take it slowly. Do a warm-up first. Do a couple of exercises: start walking intensively for about one minute, then make some jumps . After that stretch your legs and make 10-20 sit-ups.
Start jogging at a very slow pace and in 2-3 minutes reach your optimum pace.

Jogging techniques
Your body weight has to be distributed evenly on your foot. Legs should be slightly bent. Start stepping from you heel. Do not jog on your toes – it can make your legs sore.
Keep your body straight, arms slightly bent, hands made to fists and do not waggle too much when you jog.
Your neck, shoulders, arms, fingers and tongue should be relaxed while jogging. Size of step is individual, but it shouldn’t be too big or too small, usually 50-60cm (20 – 24 inches).

Breathing techniques
Breathe in through your nose, breathe out through your mouth. This way you lungs will get oxygen more evenly.
If you start to feel tired, it is good to intensively breathe through your mouth a couple of minutes.
Please do not overdo and take it easily.

Jogging tips
Do not eat and drink before jogging. Do it afterwords.
Do not jog till your head starts to ache. Before you finish jogging, decrease your jogging pace gradually and then walk around for a couple of minutes.
After one week of regular jogging you can increase your jogging pace and distance. Please do not overdo.

Morning jogging is a real energy booster. So if you want to feel vital and energetic throughout your day, get up a little earlier and go for good little jogging.

Jogging benefits-how to jog to lose weight

One of the main jogging benefits is weight loss. So one of the main purposes of jogging for most people is… that’s right, to lose weight. A lot of people start to jog simply because of that. And it is fair, because everyone is looking for possibly easiest solution. So jogging as a physical activity looks really simple and easy, no wander that a lot of people look at it as main thing to live a physically active life.

So jogging and weight loss. As everyone understands that jogging is really good for the weight loss not everyone really knows the best way to jog to reach the goal in most effective way. It is not enough just to simply jog. There is one secret how to jog for maximum results. And this big secret is interval training. Yes, that’s right, interval training. Interval means that you have to start slowly and easily, then after some time increase quite heavily your pace and intensity, and then again back to slowly to recover. So basically interval means slowly then fast then again slowly, i.e. alternating between the two. Such way of jogging really increases your cardiovascular activity – your heart beat rate increases, so your metabolic rate increases. It means your weight is being lost. And as if this is not enough, your metabolism stays increased even after your workout is finished. This means that you are loosing weight even when you rest.

So once again – jogging in intervals is the solution if you want to lose weight.

Jogging benefits-it can help to keep you young

According to sciencedaily.com, scientific researches show that regular jogging can help
you stay young for much longer period of time. So here's one more of jogging benefits for you.
Scientists of Stanford University were making a research which took about 20 years and had
more than 500 regular volunteers. Researces showed that jogging was really beneficial.
Volunteers who were jogging regularly started to feel incapacity for work 16 years later in
comparison to the people who did not jog. The research was started back in 1984. In the
beginning the scientists thought that jogging and other active physical exercises would do
more damage than give benefits to the people of older age. It was 538 people of more than 50
years old who took part in this scientific research. Their health was compared to the health of
other similar age people who did not jog. They also were interviewed each year about their
capability to do daily work. During 19 years of the research 34% of people who did not jog died
while of regular joggers it was only 15%. The research also showed that regular joggers more
seldom died of cardiovascular diseases, cancer, neurological diseases, infections, etc.
Conclusion? If you wanna stay younger longer, jogging is the solution.

Jogging benefits the introduction

So I am starting a blog about the jogging benefits. There are a lot of different forms of physical activities that allow you to improve your health and fitness, but jogging is probably one of the most simple, yet most beneficial. Jogging can improve a lot of different areas of your health and well being, be it sleeping, general fitness or other health issues.

Jogging can be of different forms. It can be running in the streets, forests, beaches, treadmill, etc. I think that jogging benefits can make your life better and more fun. Like someone said that jogging is good for your body your legs, but it also is good for the ground, the earth, because it makes it feel needed.

So about the benefits. There are lots of them and we will go through them in my later posts, but i want to mention just a few:  jogging makes your cardiovascular fitness better, it makes you sleep better, it can prevent cancer, it can decrease body fat and many many other issues.

It is also a big fun to jog early in the morning when the weather is cool and everyone else is still sleeping. It makes you feel alive.

I am myself not any kind of doctor or any other physician, I am just a guy who found the joy of jogging simply by starting it one early morning. And it got me so that I am enjoying it very very much. I simply cannot stop doing that. They say it is addictive, I am a live proof of that.  My day after jogging is so much better compared to the one if I miss jogging. Like I said, I feel more alive.

So in my later posts I will try to cover as many topics as possible to present the benefits that jogging can give you.

Stay tuned, there’s more awesome stuff to come.

Health Benefits Of Jogging

By Free Fitness Tips

1) Improved Cardiovascular Fitness

One of the first health benefits of jogging you will experience is improved cardiovascular fitness.  Cardiovascular fitness (also known as cardiorespiratory endurance or aerobic fitness) refers to how efficient the heart, lungs and vascular system (the vessels that carry blood and lymph through the body) are at delivering oxygen to the muscles that need it and also how efficient these muscles become at using the oxygen.  As your cardiovascular fitness improves your lung capacity increases meaning that you can take in more oxygen with each breath.  Your heart’s stroke volume also increases meaning that with each pump it can transport more blood and oxygen through the vascular system to the muscles.  Finally, your muscles become more efficient at absorbing oxygen meaning that they can take more oxygen molecules from the blood.

The overall effect is that with each breath you take in more oxygen, with each pump your heart transports more oxygen to your muscles and finally your muscles are able to utilise more of this oxygen.  With improved cardiovascular fitness comes further health benefits such as improved endurance, reduced risk of heart disease and reduced body fat.  I will be discussing all these additional health benefits of jogging below.

2) Reduced Blood Pressure

Reduced blood pressure is another of the important health benefits of jogging.  Blood pressure refers to the force with which your blood pushes against your blood vessel walls.  If your blood pressure becomes too high it weakens your blood vessel walls which makes them more susceptible to aneurysms (bulging), atherosclerosis (the build up of fatty substances on the blood vessel walls) and hemorrhage (bursting).

The overall impact is that the flow of blood to and from your heart gets restricted causing it to become weak whilst at the same time having to work increasingly hard to pump blood through these blocked or damaged blood vessels.  Over time this leads to the onset of heart attacks and heart disease.  High blood pressure can also cause significant damage to your brain, your kidneys, your cardiac muscles and your eyes.

No one knows exactly what causes high blood pressure.  However, there are a number of risk factors and one of these is poor cardiovascular fitness.  Therefore, by improving your cardiovascular fitness through jogging you can reduce your blood pressure and avoid the associated complications.

3) Increased HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) Cholesterol

Another of the key health benefits of jogging is increased HDL cholesterol levels.  HDL cholesterol (also known as good cholesterol) helps control your overall cholesterol levels by scraping your blood vessels for excess cholesterol and then carrying it to the liver where it can be processed and excreted.  If this excess cholesterol is not removed it may form plaque on your blood vessel walls which causes them to harden and become blocked.  This then restricts the flow of blood to and from your heart which (as discussed above) ultimately causes heart attacks and heart disease.  Improving your cardiovascular fitness increases your HDL cholesterol levels and in this way exercises such as jogging support a healthy heart and vascular system.

4) Reduced Risk Of Heart Disease

By improving your cardiovascular fitness your heart becomes stronger and more efficient.  A strong heart is more resistant to disease and is also under less pressure as it does not have to work as hard to pump blood around the body.  Improving your cardiovascular fitness also lowers your blood pressure and increases your HDL cholesterol levels which further protects you from heart disease.  Therefore, one of the further health benefits of jogging is a reduced risk of heart disease which comes from the improved cardiovascular fitness.

5) Improved Endurance

In simple terms, oxygen allows your body to release and use the energy that you get from food.  The more efficient your body is at using oxygen, the more energy you can produce during exercise.  As discussed above, improving your cardiovascular fitness increases the volume of oxygen you can take in with each breath, increases the amount of oxygen pumped with each heartbeat and increases the volume of oxygen your muscles absorb.  Therefore, another of the health benefits of jogging is increased energy levels and improved endurance  which allow you to jog for longer.

6) Stronger Bones

When your bones are placed under stress they are forced to adapt and this leads to an increase in bone mineral density.  Weight bearing exercises such as walking, jogging and weight lifting all stimulate an increase in bone mineral density.  The benefit of this is stronger bones that are less likely to bend, fracture and break.

7) Reduced Cancer Risk

One of the long term health benefits of jogging is a significant reduction in cancer risk.  Regular cardiovascular exercise such as jogging is thought to reduce your colon cancer risk by as much as 50% plus it also lowers your chances of contracting breast cancer, lung cancer, ovarian cancer and prostate cancer.

8) Prevention And Treatment Of Diabetes

Another of the fantastic health benefits of jogging is that it can act as a great defence against diabetes..  Although no one knows what causes diabetes a sedentary lifestyle and being overweight are two of the main risk factors.  Both of these risk factors can be negated by jogging regularly.  Pre-diabetescan also be prevented from developing into full type 2 diabetes by doing more exercise.  Even if full diabetes develops exercises such as jogging are a very effective treatment tool.

9) Stronger Immune System

There are a number of studies which link regular exercise with a strong immune system.  There are a number of reasons behind this.  First, regular exercise is thought to stimulate the production of lymphocytes (white blood cells) and macrophages (cells which attack bacteria).  Secondly, consistent exercise is believed to make immune system cells circulate through the body more quickly and also make them more efficient at fighting bacteria and viruses.

10) Improved Mental Fitness

Jogging does not just impact your physical fitness.  Another of the brilliant benefits of jogging is that it improves your mental fitness too.  First, it can build confidence and self image because you are constantly challenging yourself and changing the way your body looks.  Secondly, it can help you overcome anger and stress by giving you an escape from the pressures of day to day life.  Thirdly, it can boost your mood through the release of endorphins (hormones which produce a sense of happiness and well being).  Finally, it can help you become more focussed and determined as your will to succeed with your jogging becomes a skill that can be transferred to other areas of your life.

11) Reduced Body Fat Levels

Fat loss is one of the key health benefits of jogging.  An average person burns about 150 calories per mile jogged.  So if you go for a five mile jog four times per week you will burn approximately 3,000 extra calories each week (750 calories per jog).

Furthermore, cardiovascular exercises such as jogging can also increase the number of calories you burn whilst resting.  According to this article you can burn up to 15% more calories than normal in the 48 hours after you exercise.  So if your metabolism dictates that you burn 2000 calories a day you can potentially burn an extra 300 calories per day (2100 calories per week) from this post exercise boost.

The overall impact is a notable increase in calories burned per week.  Jogging can help you burn calories as you jog and whilst you rest.  Provided that you carry on eating the same as you were before you started jogging this should equate to a reduction in body fat levels.

12) Improved Sleep

One of the final health benefits of jogging is that it may help you sleep better.  According to this article, cardiovascular exercises such as jogging (particularly in the morning) can help improve your sleep patterns.  The study suggests that exercising in the morning helps people set their circadian rhythms to be awake during the day and asleep during the night.  Exercise also has a number of positive effects on your mental fitness (as discussed above) which are believed to help you relax and free your mind, making you ready to fall asleep at night.

Health Benefits Of Jogging Summary

As you can see there are many mental and physical health benefits of jogging.  If you go jogging a few times a week you can protect yourself from various diseases, improve your cardiovascular fitness, clear your mind and enjoy all the health benefits of jogging discussed in this article.  So next time you have a spare half an hour or more why not grab your trainers and give it a go?
